Company Description Colorado Storm Soccer Association is a long-established non-profit youth soccer organization serving communities across Colorado. The club uses soccer to develop character, discipline, dedication, teamwork, fair play, and respect in young people on and off the field. Colorado Storm South supports players and families in the Aurora, Littleton, Englewood, Centennial, and Parker areas, with additional regional programs across the state. The organization offers recreational and competitive programs for girls and boys ages 3–18, as well as a program for ambulatory children with special needs. Since 1967, Colorado Storm has supported more than 80,000 player applications, becoming one of Colorado’s oldest and largest soccer programs.
Role Description The Storm South Academy Head Coach is a contract, on-site role based in Centennial, CO, responsible for leading and managing academy-level teams within the Colorado Storm South program. The Head Coach will plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions, focusing on player development, technical skills, tactical understanding, fitness, and character building. Daily responsibilities include designing season-long development plans, running training sessions, managing match-day coaching and lineups, and providing constructive feedback to players and families. The role includes collaborating with directors and other coaches to align with club philosophy, attending staff meetings, coordinating with team managers, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants. The Head Coach will also assist with player evaluations, tryouts, and other club events as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience coaching youth soccer, preferably at academy or competitive levels, with a strong commitment to player development and long-term growth.
- Relevant coaching licenses or certifications (e.g., USSF, United Soccer Coaches, or equivalent), or a clear plan and willingness to obtain them within a specified time frame.
- Deep understanding of age-appropriate technical and tactical training, session planning, and seasonal periodization for players ages 3–18.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with players, families, coaching staff, and club leadership in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Proven ability to create a positive, safe, and supportive training and game-day environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and player confidence.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including reliability in scheduling, attendance, and coordination of practices, games, and events.
- Ability to model and teach values such as discipline, dedication, fair play, and respect, aligned with the club’s mission and culture.
- Comfort with basic technology and administrative tasks (e.g., team management platforms, email communication, scheduling tools, and player evaluations).
