Security Systems Technician
The starting pay rate for this position is $38.13 followed by an increase to $40.03 after six months.
As a Security Systems Technician, you'll play a critical role in integrating and maintaining cutting-edge commercial security systems across Colorado Springs Utilities' facilities. You'll have an opportunity to utilize best-in-class security technology, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems. The work that you'll do ensures the physical security and safety of our facilities and employees.
What Else Will You be Doing?
- Installing, wiring, programming, and servicing security systems, including cameras, intercoms, audio/video, and access control
- Performing preventative maintenance and inspections on intrusion detection systems
- Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, and testing systems for proper operation
- Interpreting blueprints and electrical plans to complete installations and repairs
- Documenting work through detailed job orders and maintenance records
- Estimating time, materials, and equipment needed for various projects
- Transporting tools and materials to job sites using company vehicles
- Supporting daily facility operations and coordinating with vendors and contractors
- Inspecting facilities and maintaining records of completed work
- Operating and maintaining a variety of tools and machinery
Who You Are
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic access control and security systems
- Experience with commercial facility security systems (e.g., Avigilon, Pelco, IP cameras, iSTAR controllers)
- Familiarity with C-CURE 9000 Access Control Security Management is valued
- Ability to use scissor and personal lifts
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, masonry, and/or carpentry is valued
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required - this job requires operating Colorado Springs Utilities' vehicles
