Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pipeline Inspector (Gas & Water) to support the oversight of construction, installation, and maintenance of gas and water infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on field experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors, engineers, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality utility systems.
Responsibilities

Monitor construction projects and track progress of gas, water, and wastewater service lines

Conduct on-site inspections throughout all phases of construction, including final inspections

Oversee and validate testing of systems to ensure proper installation and functionality

Identify issues in the field and provide solutions to ensure compliance with required standards, specifications, and codes

Review and authorize appropriate changes to designs or construction methods when necessary

Prepare and maintain detailed project and construction reports, activity logs, and inspection records

Develop system condition assessments and maintain accurate schematics

Document and redline as-built and record drawings, including plat cards, field measurements, and work orders

Review and sign permits as required

Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining construction and design standards

Verify that all construction materials meet required specifications and quality standards

Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
Qualifications

Three to five years of relevant experience in water, wastewater, or gas pipeline inspection

Working knowledge of construction practices, materials, and safety standards related to utility infrastructure

Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Excellent documentation and communication skills

Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions

Frequent walking, standing, and traversing uneven terrain at construction sites

Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as needed

Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and climb when conducting inspections
