OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS
The Professional Staff Assistant to the
Department of Information Technology provides administrative and operational
support to the VP for Information Technology, IT Directors, and professional
staff in the department. The role requires strong communication and organizational
skills, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple
priorities.

• Prepare and track purchase requisitions, invoices, travel authorizations, One Card expenses, and other university forms and business processes in online applications.
• Assist with monitoring Information Technology budgets, expenditures, and contract renewals.
• Draft correspondence in email, proofread documents and correspondence, and create PowerPoint slides for presentations.
• Maintain the Information Technology website using the University’s content management system.
• Schedule appointments, meetings and rooms for the Vice President for Information Technology and department functions.
• Order and maintain supplies for the Information Technology Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Information Technology and IT Directors.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university or equivalent years of office support experience in a professional staff assistant role or similar job responsibilities.
• Demonstrated
experience working with the public and internal users related to customer
service.
• Ability to work in an environment with constant interruptions.
• Experience monitoring budgets, creating purchase requests, and tracking invoices in a similar setting is preferred.
