POSITION INFORMATION

This is an unpaid/volunteer opportunity with the 21st Judicial District Probation Department in Mesa County-Grand Junction. These positions are not eligible for benefits.

MISSION STATEMENT

Volunteer/Intern probation officers are introduced to all duties of a probation officer. They write legal reports such as warrants, summons, terminations, extensions, and special reports. They shadow and mentor with probation officers in different types of caseloads to receive a well-rounded view of different populations within probation. They can attend Court hearings and attend trainings.

Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and can be flexible with your school/work schedule; however, we do ask that you have a set schedule and plan to work 10-15 hours per week with us.

The interviews will be scheduled for December 29th and January 7th. However, this posting will remain open until filled.

Volunteers/Interns must agree to and pass a criminal background check. Please note this position is unpaid.
