Colorado Industrial Packaging is a family-owned corrugated box manufacturer and distributor for custom packaging solutions. We manufacture boxes for a wide range of customers and applications including the defense, aerospace, medical, electronics, and other heavy manufacturing industries. We are growing quickly, and are looking for a machine operator that wishes to be a part of our growth with significant opportunity to learn all facets of our manufacturing operation, and be part of a tight-knit, hard-working team.
Responsibilities and Duties
This Machine Operator position is a team-player position that will work across all areas of our manufacturing operation.
This position will learn to operate our slitter, box maker, gluers, stapling machines, printer, CNC machine, band saw, and other auxiliary equipment. You will be responsible for executing work orders by operating machinery, executing quality control processes, troubleshooting new box designs, and maintaining cleanliness and organization for the work space and warehouse. This position requires great math skills and solid physical fitness as it involves calculating machine adjustments, moving sheets by hand (and with use of forklift), and operating the machine with precision. You will be cross-trained across all manufacturing positions to increase your knowledge and expertise across our manufacturing operations.
Job Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills
- 2 years experience working with and on equipment
- 2 years experience working with CNC machines
- Experience with CAD software is a plus
- Ability to work with peers in a team-oriented environment
- Desire to learn, coach-able
- Strong work ethic
- Great math skills
- Healthy, fit, and able to lift 50 lbs, able to lift sheets routinely, use pallet jacks, move pallets
- Forklift certification is highly advantageous
- Clean appearance
Training
Training is provided for all aspects of the job. All new hires undergo a 2-month training program which is designed to ensure a proper fit for both CIP and the candidate. We want our employees to love working at CIP!
