Summary:
The Maintenance & Construction Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving Colony Tire retail and commercial locations. This role supports both interior and exterior facility needs, including light construction, remodeling, and general repairs. The Technician ensures all locations remain safe, functional, and aligned with company standards for appearance and operation.
This position requires hands-on experience, independent problem-solving, and the ability to travel between locations. A company vehicle will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in maintenance, carpentry, construction, or a related field required
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
- Ability to diagnose issues and perform repairs independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel between locations as needed
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include, but not limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across store locations, including interior and exterior areas
- Complete carpentry work, light construction, and minor remodeling projects
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including basic electrical, plumbing, and structural components
- Maintain and improve overall facility appearance to meet company aesthetic standards
- Repair and maintain equipment, fixtures, and parts as needed
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize based on urgency and business impact
- Inspect facilities to identify issues and proactively recommend solutions
- Operate and maintain power tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with grounds maintenance as needed (e.g., minor landscaping, exterior upkeep)
- Track, maintain, and organize inventory of tools, materials, and supplies
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and elevated surfaces
- Comfortable working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and perform detailed repair work
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods
Work Environment & Additional Information:
- Travel required between Colony Tire locations
- Company truck provided
- Work will be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Schedule may vary based on maintenance needs and project demands
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 35 years of experience in maintenance, carpentry, construction, or a related field required
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Demonstrated experience with carpentry, light construction, and general facility repairs
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, and building systems preferred
