IT Systems Analyst

Colonna’s Shipyard is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Systems Analyst to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing IT systems and solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of the organization. Job Description:
- Analyze and evaluate existing IT systems, infrastructure, and processes to identify areas of improvement.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, workflows, system architecture, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with developers and other IT professionals to implement new systems or modify existing ones to ensure alignment of IT solutions with business objectives.
- Participate in the integration of new projects, applications, or technologies into current IT environments.
- Test and ensure system functionality, performance, and compatibility across platforms.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting issues related to IT systems and software applications.
- Perform root cause analysis of system problems and recommend corrective actions or preventive measures and suggest improvements to processes and systems to increase efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, project progress, and any identified risks or issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Must have coding expertise SQL, PowerShell preferred.
- Proven experience as an IT Systems Analyst, or similar role, in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and databases.
- Experience with systems design, software implementation, and integration.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Power BI development and Project Management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with data management, reporting tools, and database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Cognos, Microsoft Products)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving business needs.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems analysis and IT development.
- Ability to present technical solutions and reports to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices is preferred.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
- IT-related certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are preferred.
- Minimal Travel; 10% or less.
- Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Climb, Reach, Push and Pull, Stoop, Crawl, Kneel, Balance, Lift and Carry various objects and equipment.
- General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 50% of the time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available, but also requires safe navigation and regular partnership with operations teams within shipyard/industrial environments.
- Movement through the yard often requires personal protective equipment.
- Lighting and temperature are adequate and there is minimal exposure to unpleasant conditions caused by noise and dust.
