- Partner with project teams during pre-planning to forecast needs and de-risk procurement plans
- Coach and manage Purchasing Specialists, remove roadblocks, and ensure consistent execution across divisions
- Develop and execute a Strategic Sourcing Roadmap leveraging total annual spend to secure preferential pricing and protect lead times
- Resolve supplier escalations to protect schedules and quality
- Oversee procurement functions supporting New Construction, Special Projects, Industrial, Electrical, and Service divisions
- Manage the material takeoff process through the material takeoff team
- Drive improvements in procurement-related software/tools (new and existing)
- Establish and maintain a supplier scorecard program to evaluate and improve vendor performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness)
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and market conditions to validate pricing
- Negotiate purchase order terms and conditions with vendors
- Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures, and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- 7 years of purchasing experience
- 3 years of purchasing team management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and service mindset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Diplomatic, effective collaborator with internal and external partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Professional demeanor with a positive, caring, customer-first approach
- Commitment to safety as the #1 priority
- Construction or MEP procurement experience (preferred)
