Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service to our residents. The Dietary Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring that meals are prepared, served, and presented in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety regulations. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals who are passionate about nutrition and customer service.
Shift
This position is for a split shift working a 4 day on and 2 day off rotation. It requires individuals to work both 5am to 1pm shifts, as well as 11am to 7 pm shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and bussing tables.
- Ensure proper food handling practices are followed to maintain food safety.
- Support the dietary department by performing food production tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery and presentation.
- Communicate effectively with residents to provide excellent customer service regarding meal options and preferences.
- Participate in menu planning and meal preparation under the guidance of culinary staff.
- Adhere to all health regulations and company policies regarding sanitation and food safety.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary aide role or similar position within the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home, or hospital environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and dietary needs is beneficial.
- Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with cleaning, sanitation practices, and kitchen operations is essential.
