Role Description The Area Development Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Columbia, TN, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for developing and growing a designated territory by recruiting, onboarding, and coaching benefits counselors and sales representatives. The Area Development Manager will build and maintain relationships with employer clients, collaborate on enrollment strategies, and oversee local marketing and business development activities. Daily responsibilities include setting sales goals, tracking performance metrics, conducting team meetings and training sessions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The role also involves coordinating with regional and corporate teams to implement strategic initiatives and deliver a high-quality customer and employee benefits experience.
Qualifications
- Strong sales, business development, and account management skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding growth targets.
- Leadership and team management abilities, including experience recruiting, training, and coaching sales or field teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with employers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Organizational and analytical skills, including territory planning, performance tracking, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of insurance, employee benefits, or related financial services is preferred; willingness to obtain applicable licenses as required.
