Title: Kitchen Staff
Scope and General Purpose: To ensure the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals to the company's standard and to the client's satisfaction.
Hours of Work: Part Time
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Prior cooking experience, preferably quantity cooking
- Food Handlers Card to be acquired within the first 30 days of employment
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
KEY TASKS
- To be responsible for the preparation and presentation of all daily meals.
- To be responsible for completing the temperature & delivery records.
- Writing down food items and supplies that need to be reordered.
- To assist management when required with planning menus, receiving, checking, and storing deliveries as requested.
- Be familiar with and able to operate all kitchen equipment.
- Preparation of meals for 16-21 people on a daily basis and for larger groups when necessary.
- To assist with all necessary cleaning each day. For example: sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
- To ensure that the Facility Regulations pertaining to the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen areas are adhered to at all times.
- To take all necessary steps to ensure maximum security of the kitchen, office and facility when on duty.
- Interact with co-workers and residents in a friendly, positive and cooperative manner.
- Be knowledgeable of and able to participate in fire drills and evacuation procedures.
Job Type: Part-time
