About the Role
We’re seeking a Safety Manager with terminal or industrial operations experience to join our team. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role focused on ensuring a safe workplace while strengthening Colonial’s strong safety culture across our terminals and operations network.
Responsibilities
Lead and model safe work practices across all operations.Develop and implement safety programs, goals, and key performance indicators.Engage directly with employees and leaders to promote safety awareness and accountability.Manage and analyze OSHA statistics, safety policies, and compliance programs.Investigate incidents, conduct hazard assessments, and identify corrective actions.Oversee workers’ compensation, risk management, and contractor safety programs.Communicate with regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOT, USCG, DHS, EPA) as needed.Mentor and develop members of the Safety Team.Support emergency response efforts, safety meetings, and ongoing training initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or 10 years of safety management experience. Required Skills
Experience in terminal, petrochemical, or industrial operations is strongly preferred.Knowledge of OSHA, DOT (PHMSA, FMCSA), USCG, DHS (CFATS), and EPA regulations.Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.Professional certifications (CSP, SMS, ASP, CIH, or equivalent) are a plus.Must meet criteria for a TWIC card and possess a valid driver’s license with a good record.
