Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Support
- Proactively follow up with customers after delivery and service work order completion to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, acting as their primary point of contact.
- Keep the outside sales team informed of customer developments that may require their involvement.
- Effectively communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth deliveries and work order execution.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to drive revenue growth.
- Process and maintain sales orders and service work orders.
- Set up new customer ship-to accounts, assist with customer verification, and maintain files and databases.
- Provide administrative support to the Sales Team and assist with various inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Prepare and occasionally participate in delivering regular reports on account performance, sales activity, and customer feedback in advance of customer Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Procurement, and Operations/Dispatch, to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers.
- Provide administrative support to the Sales Team and assist with various inquiries.
- Perform other assignments as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or another related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a customer service and data entry role, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Familiarity with the transportation industry is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer relationship development skills.
- Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude while being assertive and professional in all verbal and written communication.
- Ability to develop new customer relationships and maintain existing relationships.
- Strong judgment with the ability to effectively and creatively solve problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to occasionally move throughout the workplace as needed to perform job duties.
