Job Title: USFS Aspire Program Director
Organization: Colonial Figure Skating Club
Location: Colonial Figure Skating Club, 34 Massachusetts Ave, Boxboro, MA (Nashoba Valley Olympia)
Hours: 8-10 hours per week
Compensation: $30/hour
Reports to: Colonial FSC General Manager
Colonial Figure Skating Club (Colonial FSC), a dynamic and growing organization recognized nationally for its high-caliber coaching and athlete development, is seeking a part-time Aspire Program Director. This individual will play a pivotal leadership role in managing and growing the Aspire Program in accordance with U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) standards. The Aspire Program Director will serve as a key liaison among skaters, parents, coaches, and rink management, promoting a positive and collaborative environment while driving program excellence and athlete retention.
Program Development and Growth
- Work with the Director of Marketing to design and implement recruitment strategies to grow Aspire enrollment. (promotion, advertising, outreach).
- Develop retention initiatives that support long-term skater engagement and development. (incentives, opportunities, education).
- Recruit and mentor new coaches for the Aspire program to support continued program growth and sustainability.
- Manage day to day operations and registrations in the Halix database. Maintain skater records and contact details.
- Work with the General Manager on yearly budgeting and maintaining up to date actual financial information throughout the season.
- Provide monthly updates to the CFSC Board of Directors
- Uphold high coaching standards to ensure a quality learning experience. (recruitment, education, mentorship)
- Monitor class structure, time management, and the effectiveness of coach-skater engagement.
- Manage curriculum updates and recognition tools such as certificates and badges to inspire skater progress.
- Provide timely, consistent communication with parents regarding program schedules, closures, events, and general skating information.
- Host quarterly parent meetings to deliver updates and address inquiries.
- Educate new skating families about the sport, including equipment recommendations, blade maintenance, competitions, and private lessons.
- Work closely with Aspire coaching staff to maintain alignment with program goals and philosophies.
- Encourage involvement from Club Professionals to enhance support for Aspire.
- Keep all coaches informed on program changes and objectives to foster buy-in and cohesion.
- Observe classes a minimum of 1X per session and make skater parent introductions.
- Coordinate with Learn to Skate leadership to ensure seamless transitions into Aspire.
- Promote participation in complementary disciplines like Synchronized Skating and Theatre on Ice, competitive singles.
- Build cooperative relationships with other Colonial and Nashoba Program Directors and staff.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster collaboration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with skaters, parents, and coaches.
- In-depth knowledge of US Figure Skating's Aspire program or similar youth skating initiatives.
- Strong financial, management and administrative skills
- Prior coaching or program administration experience in a skating environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required by the program schedule.
- Safe Sport compliant and CORI background checked.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure the Aspire program complies with all USFS standards, Colonial FSC policies, and rink guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professionally managed skating environment for all participants.

- Extensive successful skating background and understanding of USFS programming
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the interest and ability to work closely with all stakeholders, but particularly with young skaters and beginning adult skaters, the LTS Director, skating professionals, and parents of skaters on understanding figure skating and the progression of and benefits of all Colonial program options available to skaters. (E.g. Freestyle, Synchro, TOI)
- Experience in developing a figure skating Bridge Program, and overseeing program operations for skating instruction
- A sincere and demonstrated love of figure skating and appreciation for the mission of the Colonial Figure Skating Club
Estimated hours to coordinate the program are 8-10 hours per week. Compensation for this position will be $30/hr, and will be paid in accordance with CFSC's standard payroll practices and applicable law. CFSC will waive or pay your CFSC Professional Membership. There are no other benefits included with this position, except as set forth in other Colonial FSC policies, or as required by state or federal law.
