Job Summary
Colonial CASA seeks a dynamic and passionate Development and Community Engagement Coordinator to lead our efforts to build meaningful relationships, increase community involvement, and advance our organizational mission. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, coordinate impactful events, and foster engagement with donors and partners. Community Engagement & Volunteer Recruitment (45%)
· Represent Colonial CASA at community events, volunteer fairs, networking opportunities, and outreach activities.
· Develop relationships with businesses, civic organizations, schools, faith communities, and community partners.
· Coordinate presentations that educate the public about Colonial CASA’s mission and volunteer opportunities.
· Assist in creating informational and awareness materials.
· Assist with volunteer recruitment initiatives and community education campaigns.
Sponsorship & Community Partnerships (30%)
· Cultivate relationships with local businesses and organizations to secure sponsorships and in-kind donations for events and organizational initiatives.
· Coordinate sponsorship opportunities and ensure sponsors receive appropriate recognition.
· Assist the Executive Director in developing and maintaining long-term community partnerships that support Colonial CASA’s mission.
Communications & Public Awareness (15%)
· Maintain volunteer recruitment materials, website content, newsletters, and social media to support community education and volunteer recruitment.
· Share program impact stories that increase community awareness and encourage volunteer involvement.
· Assist with planning volunteer information sessions and community events.
Administrative Support (10%)
· Maintain records of outreach activities, sponsorships, and community partnerships.
· Track volunteer recruitment and community engagement metrics.
· Assist with reports and other duties that support outreach and organizational sustainability.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· Experience in community engagement, business development, volunteer coordination, communications, or nonprofit operations.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a part-time role.
· Ability to build and maintain productive community relationships.
· Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to represent Colonial CASA professionally in the community.
· Commitment to the mission of advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
· Knowledge of the nonprofit industry.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to travel throughout Williamsburg, James City County, and York County for meetings and community events.
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for outreach materials and event supplies.
· Occasional evening and weekend work for community outreach and sponsored events.

Pay: $28,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
