Position Summary
The Powder Coat Applicator is responsible for preparing parts for powder coating, applying high-quality powder coatings, and ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and Colombo Manufacturing's quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare parts for powder coating using sandblasting and chemical wash processes.
- Inspect parts before coating to ensure proper surface preparation.
- Apply powder coatings using electrostatic spray equipment.
- Load and unload parts from the conveyor system and curing oven safely and efficiently.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, coverage, and overall appearance.
- Package completed parts for shipment or customer pickup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all shop safety rules, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals and customer deadlines.
- Assist with other shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous powder coating or industrial painting experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience with sandblasting or surface preparation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and a positive team player.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No weekends
