Job Summary:
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This includes assessing damage, removing and replacing parts, straightening frames, sanding, painting, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs.
- Repair or replace damaged body parts (panels, fenders, doors, bumpers, etc.).
- Straighten vehicle frames and structural components using frame machines or measuring systems.
- Sand, fill, and prep surfaces for painting.
- Mix and apply paints to match the original vehicle color and finish.
- Install new parts and ensure proper alignment and fit.
- Follow manufacturer and insurance repair procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with estimators, painters, and other team members.
- Test repaired vehicles for proper operation and alignment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of experience in collision repair (preferred but not required for entry-level).
- Knowledge of frame alignment, welding, sanding, and refinishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and paint fumes (PPE provided).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $30.33 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
