Job Description
Collins Einhorn Farrell is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal billing and collections, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and staff. This position is responsible for supporting the firm's accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate billing records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and process monthly client billing in accordance with attorney billing instructions and firm deadlines.
- Monitor and maintain assigned accounts receivable accounts.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances through email and telephone correspondence.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and collection efforts as directed by the controller.
- Process billing adjustments, write-offs, and other account corrections as approved.
- Prepare and submit appeals or billing corrections when necessary.
- Maintain accurate client account records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, client billing guidelines.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of accounts receivable experience; law firm or professional services experience is preferred.
- Experience with legal billing and electronic billing (e-billing) platforms is highly desirable.
- Experience with collections and resolving client billing issues.
Required Skills
- High school diploma.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator with speed and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative accounting team.
Pay: From $46,000.00 per year
