Member Representative

Collins Community Credit Union, a growing organization is currently recruiting for a Member Representative at our Mills Civic branch. This person will be a competitive, independent, "doer" who can problem solve and get things done through people. In this role, you will work to achieve high quality member service to both internal and external members. This position handles routine financial transactions at the credit union. They work to uncover needs and to educate each member on the products and services that will benefit and contribute to their personal financial success. Must be available to work during business hours:

• Monday - Thursday 8:00am- 5:15pm

• Friday 8:00am - 5:45pm

• Saturday rotation 8:30am- 12:15pm (flex day during the week when working Saturday rotation)

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values, and long-term objectives. Performs duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards, and our work procedures.

• Serve as the first point of contact for members and guests of the credit union
• Create welcoming, professional, and personalized interactions
• Identify member needs through conversation and active listening
• Introduce members to products, services, and digital solutions
• Perform day-to-day transactions for members

Sales & Relationship Development (Core Expectation)

• Actively cross-sell and refer products and services to appropriate parties
• Uncover opportunities through profiling, life events, and needs-based conversations
• Recommend solutions (checking, savings, loans, digital banking, etc.)
• Achieve, contribute, and exceed individual and branch sales and referral goals
• Conduct proactive outreach (in-person, phone, and campaign-based)
• Partner with specialists to deepen member relationships
• Educate members on benefits, features, and value of offerings

This is a sales-driven role. Every interaction is a potential opportunity to grow the relationship.

Transaction Processing & Operational Excellence

• Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments
• Maintain and balance cash drawer daily
• Complete basic account maintenance and documentation with accuracy
• Support branch operations
• Handle member transactions safely, accurately, confidentially within established procedures and regulatory requirements

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements (BSA, privacy, etc.)
• Verify identification and protect member data
• Identify and escalate suspicious or unusual activity
• Maintain integrity in all financial and member interactions

Team & Community Engagement

• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
• Participate in branch initiatives, promotions, and goal attainment efforts
• Represent the organization in the community and support outreach events
• Share responsibility for branch success by living out the one team philosophy

Working Conditions:

• Requires frequent walking, sitting, and standing for long periods of time
• Regularly uses computer and standard office equipment (copier, printer, calculator, and other office technology) to perform daily job duties.
• Requires the ability to clearly exchange accurate, concise, and timely information in person, by phone, and through electronic communications.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50lbs.

Job Qualifications/ Skills & Competencies:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to balance service excellence with sales performance
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance discipline
• Comfortable with technology and digital tools
• Strong problem-solving and relationship-building capabilities
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be bondable in accordance with the State of Iowa and Collins Community Credit Union guidelines
