Collins Brothers Sawmill, Inc. is looking to hire a loader operator to join our team. The loader operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery to load, unload, and transport materials, ensuring safe and efficient operations on site.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate Heavy Equipment: Use load to move materials such as logs, lumber, sawdust, wood chips, gravel, and snow removal.
· Perform Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment, including lubrication, fueling, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while operating machinery, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
· Load and Unload Materials: Efficiently load and unload materials from trucks or other vehicles, coordinating with team members to manage material flow.
· Monitor Operations: Keep track of log inventory to ensure logs are organized and identified correctly.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certification in heavy equipment operations is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience operating a loader is required. Knowledge of log species is preferred.
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficient in loader operations and understanding of required maintenance.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow safety protocols and perform tasks with precision to avoid accidents and equipment damage.
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills to coordinate with other team members and ensure efficient operations.
Working Environment / Physical Abilities
· This position requires you to be working outdoors.
· You must be able to climb in and out of machinery regularly.
· Willing and able to work overtime and come in during weekends occasionally (as weather / log loads require).
