As a Junior Materials Planning Analyst, you will support our production environment. This role will be shop floor-based, focused on maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating material movement, supporting production needs, and ensuring work order integrity. You will work closely with operations, supply chain, and quality teams to keep production flowing and ensure capacity is fully supported.

What You Will Do:

  • Support daily material needs on the shop floor by maintaining inventory levels and ensuring materials are available for production.
  • Issue, track, and adjust materials to work orders in the system to ensure accurate consumption and availability.
  • Release work orders and monitor their status through completion.
  • Manage work order changes, such as updating serial numbers, modifying Bills of Material (BOM), and splitting orders as needed.
  • Submit and execute inventory adjustments and workflow changes to maintain data accuracy.
  • Perform daily floor walks to monitor material usage, identify shortages, and escalate issues.
  • Communicate material availability and shortages to production and supply chain teams.
  • Work with quality, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve material-related obstacles.
  • Attend daily operations meetings to provide updates on material and work order status.
  • Maintain daily tracking files for critical parts and report on material movement and status.
  • Assist in sustaining internal planning metrics and ensuring capacity is aligned with production needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material handling processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, materials, or production support role.
  • Experience with inventory management and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and working in ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and basic shop floor operations.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to read and understand Bills of Material (BOMs) and work instructions.

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
