Utility Worker/Dishwasher

The utility worker performs various kitchen activities, including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies. This position maintains the daily temperature and chemical parts per million logs to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes. The utility worker is responsible for the overall cleanliness and order of the kitchen during peak operational hours.

• Cleans and sanitizes glassware, china, flatware, production equipment, work surfaces, pots, pans, and cleaning tasks assigned by the Executive Chef or according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Keep the dishwashing machine in working order and change the water every two hours. Also, report any malfunctions to the Chef.
• Distributes and stores clean pots, pans, glassware, china, utensils, kitchen equipment, etc.
• Set up the dish and pot washing area.
• Empties trash, boxes, and soiled linen containers as required.
• Performs daily logs for temperature and chemical ppm to ensure clean and sanitized dishes.
• Assists the storeroom clerk in storing food and non-food supplies
• Prior experience in a food service or healthcare environment may be beneficial but is generally not mandatory.

• Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday.

Salary: $16 per hour.
