• Performs specialized maintenance work within assigned County Division, which may involve: plumbing maintenance, swimming pool aquatic chemical control, aquatic facility maintenance.
• Assists skilled-trade employees or other workers as needed.
• Performs various tasks involving plumbing maintenance/repair projects; troubleshoots, maintains and repair plumbing systems.
• Performs various tasks involving swimming pool maintenance and bulk chemical monitoring and feeding system operation.
• Performs various tasks involving building maintenance projects and pressure washing.
• Performs various tasks involving maintenance of aquatic facilities; locks/unlocks facilities and checks for unsafe conditions or faulty equipment; checks pool chemical levels and adds/removes chemicals as needed; conducts super-chlorination of pool water; cleans/vacuums pool; cleans/backwashes pool filters; cleans pump house and pump basket; replaces chemical hoses and rebuilds chemical pumps; cleans probes and injectors maintains and repairs exterior lighting; blows debris from pool deck and sidewalks.
*Cleanup following hurricanes, storms, or emergency situations.
• Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with Division projects.
• Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment.
• Monitors inventory levels of supplies and materials; ensures availability of adequate supplies, tools, and materials to conduct work activities; initiates requests for new/replacement materials.
• Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.

High school diploma or GED preferred. One (1) year of related experience. Fingerprinting required. Licenses/Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805. Tasks involving maintenance of aquatic center facilities require possession and maintenance of valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Salary offers above the minimum of the pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared emergency and/or declared emergency. On an incident-by-incident basis, the County’s Administrative Office will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
