Job Summary
Performs lead, skilled, and general work functions associated with routine maintenance and service work in Fire Systems.
Essential Functions
Performs specialized work associated with fire protection systems, including the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and related life safety equipment.
Ensures all fire and life safety systems are functioning properly and remain compliant with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA and Florida Fire Code requirements. Troubleshot system deficiencies, coordinated corrective actions, and supported system upgrades, installations, and inspections across County facilities.
Maintains accurate records of inspections, testing, deficiencies, and corrective actions; coordinates with vendors, inspectors, and internal staff to ensure timely resolution of issues. Assists in planning and executing preventive maintenance programs for fire and life safety systems to support operational readiness and compliance.
Provides training and guidance to staff on fire protection systems, inspection procedures, and safety protocols. Supports the development and delivery of training to Facilities personnel to ensure proper understanding of fire system operations, compliance requirements, and emergency response procedures.
Coordinates with building managers, contractors, and inspectors to schedule inspections, facilitate access to facilities, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the successful completion of fire and life safety projects.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Six (6) years of related experience.
Fingerprinting required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.

- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
