What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Opportunities position at Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court?
The Clerk’s Office offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Examples are outlined below.
We have an ongoing need for volunteers to assist with various clerical projects. Responsibilities may include filing documents, back-scanning court files, sorting and organizing materials, assembling packets, and routing or delivering documents.
We seek dependable individuals who demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, basic computer proficiency, and the capacity to perform the physical requirements associated with assigned tasks. Certain assignments may involve standing, bending, stooping, and reaching both below and above shoulder level for filing. However, not all roles require physical filing; volunteers who are able to perform sedentary administrative tasks are also highly valued.
Additional volunteer opportunities within the Courts, Finance, and Administration divisions may include:
Legal research
Policy and procedure documentation
Technical writing
Financial projects involving accounting and/or auditing
All prospective volunteers are required to submit a completed Volunteer Application, including a summary of their educational background and work history, along with any additional relevant materials such as a resume. This information enables us to identify volunteer assignments that are both meaningful for the individual and supportive of the Clerk’s operational needs.
All volunteer placements are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Hours:
Volunteers may contribute as many, or as few, hours as they desire; however, we must have volunteers who are available on a recurring and/or project specific basis during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The number of volunteer hours and specific work schedule is established by mutual agreement.
