    Job Purpose

    The Coordinator of Enrichment Programs is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of academic and artistic enrichment programs across the district. This position supports the identification and development of gifted and talented students, ensures equitable access to advanced learning opportunities, and collaborates with instructional leadership to strengthen enrichment programming for all learners. Reports to the Director of Teaching and Learning.

    Essential Job Functions

    Student Identification & Talent Development
    • Identify academically and artistically gifted students using multiple measures.
    • Coordinate additional identification opportunities for students who do not meet traditional state assessment criteria (e.g., CogAT, IOWA, SC READY, iReady, EOC).
    • Monitor and track the district's talent development pool at each school to identify students for local services or further assessment (e.g., Naglieri).
    • Teaching the Brain Boosters curriculum at elementary schools for identified second-grade students.

    Data Management & Program Evaluation
    • Assist the Division of Curriculum and Instruction with Gifted and Talented (G/T) assessment data entry, analysis, and reporting.
    • Maintain and manage student G/T profiles within the GIFT system.
    • Conduct school-level Gifted and Talented Wellness Checks.
    • Develop and present Gifted and Talented School Wellness Reports to district leadership, including the DTL, Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability, and Superintendent.
    • Conduct quarterly meetings with Gifted and Talented teachers

    Reports include analysis of:
    • Program accessibility and equity (e.g., race, gender, gifted/non-gifted populations)
    • SC READY Reading and Math GT performance trends over time
    • Referral, screening, and identification rates
    • Number of students receiving GT services
    • Availability of advanced learning opportunities by school

    Program Development & Support
    • Collaborate with curriculum leaders to design and enhance academic and artistic enrichment programs.
    • Support the development and implementation of rigorous, differentiated curriculum for gifted and advanced learners.
    • Research and recommend a curriculum to ensure alignment with state standards and district's guaranteed viable curriculum
    • Collaborate with all stakeholders (district leaders, principals, teachers, guidance counselors, and parents) regarding program goals, expectations, and student progress.

    Professional Development
    • Plan, deliver, and track professional development for teachers of enrichment (Honors, AP, Early College) and gifted programs district-wide.
    • Provide ongoing support to ensure effective instructional strategies for advanced learners are implemented with fidelity.
    • Attend the SC and National Gifted and Talented Conference
    • Attend SCASA Gifted and Talented Round Table Meetings
    • Attend SCDE Gifted and Talented Professional Development
    • Present at district and state meetings

    Teacher Recruitment & Endorsement
    • Recruit and coordinate teachers for enrichment and gifted and talented endorsement programs (academic and artistic).
    • Support educators in enrichment programs in obtaining required certifications and endorsements to serve gifted learners.
    • Mentor new Gifted and Talented teachers

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Gifted Education, or related field preferred
    • Valid teaching certification and Gifted and Talented endorsement
    • Experience working with gifted and/or advanced learners
    • Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate professional development
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
