The Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education (https://cehs.unl.edu/tlte) seeks a tenure-line Assistant or Associate Professor of Secondary Mathematics Education who can help prepare effective educators; collaborate with department colleagues, mathematics and STEM content specialists, and classroom teachers, and attract increased national interest and funding to nationally visible programs in mathematics education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Our new colleague will be joining a dynamic and committed community of scholars in the department and a collaborative faculty group in secondary education. The program graduates 10-12 teacher candidates yearly and graduate math education courses that enroll 10-27 in-service teachers each during academic year semesters and during summer terms. Our programs benefit from long-standing and unique partnerships with the Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Education. We anticipate expanding our faculty in elementary, secondary, and mathematics education not only to prepare students for initial teacher certification, but also to provide professional learning in graduate education and expand opportunities for funded research and scholarship.
