WatchCheck | Dayton, OH | Part-Time Contractor | Hybrid
About WatchCheck
WatchCheck is reimagining the luxury after-sales industry through the world’s first white-glove digital service and repair center. With tens of billions of dollars of watches changing hands every year, we are building the luxury service operating system of the future—where collectors can manage, restore, and protect their most valuable timepieces with transparency, elegance, and ease.
We’re looking for a sharp, creative video content creator to bring our story and operations to life across our digital platforms through short-form content.
The Role
This is a part-time contractor position structured around two content shoots per month at our watchmaking facility in Dayton, OH. Each shoot engagement includes dedicated preproduction time and a half-day on-site shoot. You’ll report directly to the Creative Director / Head of Strategy.
Per-Shoot Breakdown
Preproduction (Remote, ~4–5 hours per shoot)
- Develop shot lists and content plans for the upcoming shoot
- Research current social media trends, formats, and hooks relevant to the luxury, watch, and lifestyle space
- Identify and cultivate compelling hooks and content angles that align with WatchCheck’s brand voice
- Prepare creative concepts and references to maximize efficiency on shoot day
- Coordinate with the creative team on logistics, scheduling, and deliverables ahead of the shoot
On-Site Shoot (Dayton facility, ~4 hours per shoot)
- Capture short-form video content (iPhone/handheld) of watches and the watchmaking process
- Shoot product and macro photography of timepieces and workshop details
- Collaborate with watchmakers and the creative team to execute the preproduction plan
- Adapt on the fly—capture unexpected moments, b-roll, and candid content that tells the WatchCheck story
Cadence: 2 shoots per month. Total time commitment is approximately 16–18 hours/month (including preproduction).
Optional: Post-Production Editing
Editing is not required for this role, but if you enjoy the post-production side, there’s opportunity to take on editing work and expand the scope of the engagement. This would include editing short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts from footage captured during shoots. Compensation for editing work would be discussed separately.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong native familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and short-form content culture
- Previous experience creating content for social platforms (personal projects, freelance, or professional)
- Strong editing skills for mobile-first content (CapCut or similar; Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro is a bonus)
- Comfortable shooting with an iPhone in dynamic, detail-oriented environments
- Professional experience with product and macro photography
- Creative thinker who takes initiative and can independently develop ideas from concept to execution
- Understands content trends and platform algorithms—knows what performs and why
- Interest in luxury, lifestyle, design, or watches is a plus, but a passion for visual storytelling is essential
- Reliable, organized, and able to commit to a consistent shoot schedule
Compensation & Structure
- $700–$750 per shoot (includes preproduction and on-site shoot day)
- 2 shoots per month = $1,400–$1,500/month
- 1099 independent contractor
- Editing work available as an optional add-on with separate compensation

- Creative autonomy in shaping the digital voice of a fast-scaling luxury technology company

- Work alongside passionate watchmakers and a creative team that values craft
