Based on property in Jackson, Wyoming, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance, culture, guest experience, and long-term stewardship of Faraway Jackson Hole. The Role
The General Manager is the senior on-property leader for Faraway Jackson Hole and will oversee all aspects of resort operations, including Rooms, Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Engineering and Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Spa/Wellness, Security, outdoor spaces, and resort experiences.
This leader will own property-level financial performance, operational standards, team engagement, guest satisfaction, capital planning, and execution of the hotel’s strategic priorities. The General Manager will also serve as a critical on-site partner to ownership, corporate leadership, development teams, and contractors during construction, renovation, transition, and ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities
-Property Leadership & Financial Performance
-Establish and execute property strategies aligned with Faraway brand standards, ownership objectives, portfolio priorities, and market opportunity.
-Lead annual business planning, budgets, forecasts, labor strategy, capital planning, expense management, procurement, and profitability performance.
-Partner with Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Brand teams to optimize rooms revenue, outlet performance, events, experiences, and ancillary revenue.
-Communicate property performance, key risks, opportunities, and operating priorities clearly to ownership, corporate leadership, and the hotel leadership team.
-Create a consistent cadence of reporting, accountability, and action planning across the operation.
Operations, Brand & Guest Experience
-Ensure polished and seamless daily execution across all resort departments, with a focus on service, safety, cleanliness, maintenance, communication, and operational readiness.
-Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the hotel, engaging directly with guests and associates while leading by example.
-Conduct regular property walks to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, outlets, exterior areas, and back-of-house operations consistently meet Faraway’s design, ambiance, and quality standards.
-Lead VIP and high-profile guest experiences, oversee service recovery, and use guest feedback to improve the overall guest journey.
-Refine SOPs, service standards, quality-assurance practices, seasonal operating plans, and guest-facing procedures.
-Guide programming, amenities, local partnerships, and experiential offerings that reflect the Jackson Hole setting and reinforce the Faraway brand.
Team Leadership & Culture
-Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing property leadership team.
-Foster a professional, collaborative, guest-first culture defined by accountability, thoughtful communication, and a strong sense of ownership.
-Lead talent planning, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and leadership development in partnership with Human Resources.\
-Develop staffing models and schedules aligned with occupancy, seasonality, group activity, outlet demand, and service expectations.
-Ensure the team is fully prepared for peak winter and summer periods, holidays, special events, and operational transitions.
Asset, Projects & Risk Management
-Serve as the principal on-site operational liaison for ownership, corporate leadership, development partners, and contractors during construction, renovation, and capital projects.
-Protect the physical asset through preventative maintenance, repairs, lifecycle planning, equipment replacement, and appropriate capital prioritization.
-Ensure newly completed or renovated areas are fully equipped, operationally tested, appropriately staffed, and aligned with brand standards prior to guest use.
-Maintain robust safety, security, emergency response, incident-management, and business-continuity protocols.
-Ensure compliance with applicable permits, licenses, health and safety requirements, employment practices, accessibility standards, privacy obligations, and operational regulations.
Commercial & Community Leadership
-Partner with Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Finance and Brand teams to optimize rooms revenue, outlet performance, events, experiences, and ancillary revenue.
-Represent Faraway Jackson Hole within the local community, tourism organizations, hospitality networks, and strategic partnerships.
-Build relationships that support destination awareness, recruiting, community engagement, and the hotel’s commercial performance.
-Champion effective use of hotel technology, reporting tools, and operating systems to strengthen service, productivity, communication, and financial controls.
-Lead practical sustainability initiatives related to energy, water, waste, purchasing, and local sourcing while balancing business performance with guest expectations.
Qualifications
-3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury lifestyle, boutique hotel, upscale resort, or similarly service-intensive hospitality environments.
-Previous experience as a General Manager, Resort Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of -------Operations, or comparable senior property leader strongly preferred.
-Demonstrated success leading an operation through construction, renovation, opening, repositioning, growth, or another significant transition.
-Strong P&L leadership experience, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, expense controls, procurement, capital planning, and performance analysis.
-Proven success building and retaining strong teams in a seasonal, fast-paced operating environment.
-Solid understanding of luxury service standards, hotel operations technology, revenue management, and resort operating rhythms.
-Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with ownership, corporate teams, guests, associates, vendors, and community leaders.
-A leadership style that is strategic, detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and consistently guest-focused.
-Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak operational periods.
-Willingness to travel periodically to support other Collared Martin Hospitality properties, openings, transitions, and special projects.
