OCTO is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain the central Oracle environment for the district. The resource must have experience with upgrading core versions of Oracle database and managing a highly available environment.

Complete Description:

OCTO is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain the central Oracle environment for the district. The resource must have experience with upgrading core versions of Oracle database and managing a highly available environment. This includes backup and restore, troubleshooting connectivity, performing failovers as planned or in support of unplanned activities, performing maintenance to include optimizing and tuning, reviewing memory, I/O, indexing, queries, access, tablespace, schemas. The resource must have experience with capacity planning, incident response and root cause analysis, and working with cross functional collaboration with teams (developers, architects, security) utilizing the environment.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and implements projects in support of District’s growing information demands.
• Ensures the effective use of District resources.
• Contributes to policies for effective process planning as it relates to new requirements.
• Possesses expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for the end user.
• Participates in short-term tactical planning implementation.
• Contributes to long-term strategic planning.
  
  
  

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
