Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician supports research and development activities by building, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role focuses on electronic lab operations, prototype development, and validation testing using standard engineering tools. The position plays a key role in ensuring product performance, data accuracy, and development efficiency within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build, assemble, and modify prototype components, assemblies, and development boards
• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and rework including soldering and wiring modifications
• Operate and maintain electronic lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters
• Conduct tests, collect data, and support verification of development boards and systems
• Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and test plans to execute tasks accurately
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of lab equipment and tools
• Document testing procedures, results, and analysis throughout development phases
• Support development of manufacturing and process instructions for prototype builds
• Assist in cross-functional discussions related to product performance and test setups
• Prioritize tasks and manage assignments independently to meet project timelines
Required Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Electronics or related field, or high school diploma with relevant experience
• Experience working in an engineering lab or manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with soldering and electronic board repair
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering documentation
• Experience using standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in medical device or regulated industry environment
• Familiarity with prototype development and validation processes
• Experience supporting electronic lab maintenance and calibration activities
