Job Summary:
The Associate Scientist II supports materials science activities with a focus on polymer materials characterization. This role involves hands-on laboratory testing, data analysis, and technical documentation in a regulated environment. The scientist will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams while contributing to materials characterization efforts that support product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform material characterization and assessment using DSC, TGA, FTIR, and related techniques
• Conduct hands-on laboratory testing in support of materials science and product development projects
• Partner with scientists and project teams to define testing approaches and experimental plans
• Analyze test data and interpret results to support technical decision-making
• Document experiments and results in an electronic laboratory notebook within a regulated environment
• Prepare clear and accurate technical reports and summaries
• Work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory setting while maintaining attention to detail
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
• One to three years of experience in a laboratory or materials characterization environment
• Hands-on experience with thermal analysis techniques such as Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Thermogravimetric Analysis
• Experience operating analytical instrumentation in an industry or research setting
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience documenting laboratory work using electronic or paper notebook systems in accordance with regulated guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with polymer characterization and structure-property relationships
• Familiarity with Trios, Omnic, or LabVantage electronic laboratory notebook systems

Pay Range: $35/hr to $38/hr
Salary : $35 - $38
