Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CNC Programmer/Machinist role based in Sparta, NJ. The CNC Programmer/Machinist will program CNC machines, set up tooling and fixtures, and operate milling and machining equipment to produce precision aerospace components to tight tolerances. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, creating and optimizing CNC programs, performing machine set-ups, and monitoring production runs for accuracy and efficiency. The role also involves performing in-process inspections, making necessary adjustments, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues. The CNC Programmer/Machinist is expected to follow established safety and quality procedures and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T and aerospace-specific specifications.
- Proficiency in CNC Programming and Programming of multi-axis CNC equipment using common programming languages or CAM software. Esprit is a plus!
- Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling, including set-up, operation, and optimization of CNC turning and milling equipment.
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Strong understanding of shop math, measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges), and in-process inspection techniques.
- Commitment to safety, quality standards, and adherence to documented procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, recommend process improvements, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 environment is preferred; aerospace machining experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology is beneficial.
