5-Week Substitute Instructor – Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates (iJAG)
Location: Colfax Mingo Jr/Sr High School Campus
Dates Needed: January 5 – February 13
Schedule: Monday–Friday, during the school day
We are seeking a dedicated Substitute iJAG Instructor to support our Middle School iJAG program for a five-week period. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and prepare for future careers.
Position Overview
The Substitute Instructor will deliver the established iJAG curriculum and provide high-quality support to students. Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating career development programming
- Leading leadership training activities
- Providing individualized student guidance and support
- Coordinating and encouraging employer engagement opportunities
- Maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment
- Collaborating with school staff and the iJAG team as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with middle school–aged students preferred
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Ability to follow established curriculum and maintain classroom expectations
- Passion for youth development and career education
