Bondurant-Farrar CSD is seeking several long term substitutes for the 2025-26 school year:
- Anderson Elementary School (serving grades 5-6)
- Classroom Teacher (approximately March 12 - EOY)
- Bondurant-Farrar Junior High School (serving grades 7-8)
- Math Teacher (approximately March 5 - April 10)
These dates are all subject to change based on actual needs of the vacancy.
Hiring Specifications
- Valid State of Iowa teaching or substitute license, with appropriate endorsement(s) or certification(s)
- Bachelor’s degree in position related area
- $227.91/day
Scope: To help students develop knowledge and skills and talents that will contribute to their talents in order that they may become productive citizens.
Reports to: Building Principal
Requirements: Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education
Performance responsibilities:
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible meets the needs, interests and abilities of students
- Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives
- Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meetings stated objectives
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports
- Maintains effective communications with the principal, students and parents
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
- Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required
- Performs other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the board or administration
- Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district student achievement goals
- Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position
- Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction
- Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meet the multiple learning needs of students
- Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning
- Demonstrates competence in classroom management
- Engages in professional growth
- Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district
