Assist collection specialist with day to day activities

Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist aids in processing claims and receivables and facilitating collections for AAA Moving and Storage. Salary is $24/hour depending on experience.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Post receivables into accounting software subsequent to appropriate research of the payment.
- Process credit card payments for monthly storage after verifying invoices have been generated and posted to accounting software.
- Ensure collections efforts are conducting according to the regulations of the State of Alaska and the state within which the customer resides.
- Assemble paperwork to send to attorney for collection purposes, as needed.
- Work assigned shifts.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating over the phone and through writing
- Knowledge of accounting/general bookkeeping procedures
- Knowledge and/or proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
Required Education and Experience:
- Required: High school diploma
- Preferred: Prior receivables or collections experience
Working Conditions:
- Indoors
- Office Environment
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Frequent use of telephone
- Frequent use of computer
- 100% or more of job must be completed at company facility
