About the Role
Coleman Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Savannah, GA. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in both civil engineering and land surveying disciplines. The intern will work directly with experienced engineers, designers, and survey professionals on a variety of land development and municipal projects, gaining practical knowledge in real-world engineering processes.
What we’re looking For
We’re seeking a student currently enrolled in a civil engineering or land surveying program who is eager to learn, enthusiastic about the industry, and ready to gain meaningful field and office experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support civil engineering projects by assisting with research, design documentation, and basic engineering calculations.
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar design software to support the development of drawings, plans, and exhibits.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project management and field operations.
- Learn and apply industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to civil engineering and surveying.
- Assist in drafting technical reports, summaries, and presentations.
- Maintain organized and accurate project records and documentation.

- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Land Surveying program at an accredited university.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering or surveying.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
