Duties
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems that regulate treatment processes.
- Conduct routine inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment involved in water and wastewater treatment.
- Collect data on system performance, analyze trends, and report findings to optimize treatment efficiency.
- Operate heavy equipment such as tanker trucks for transporting chemicals or sludge, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist with construction projects related to system upgrades or infrastructure improvements, including site preparation and equipment installation.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling materials or equipment necessary for plant operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, data logs, and operational reports to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- The main schedule for this role will be day shift Monday through Friday, with nights and weekends for issues arising.
Experience
- Prior experience working with schematics and troubleshooting. At least 2 years experience in a wastewater position.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, plumbing, or general maintenance is essential. Basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes such as filtration, chemical dosing, or disinfection techniques is preferred.
- Experience operating heavy machinery or construction equipment will be considered an asset.
- Testing of wastewater and adding chemicals as needed.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to chemical dosages, flow rates, or system measurements are required.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for troubleshooting system issues quickly and effectively.
- Responsible for covering nuights and weekends as issues arise.

Pay: $28.50 - $33.00 per hour
