The People and Culture/HR Manager will lead all aspects of the employee experience — from recruitment and onboarding to engagement, performance, and retention. This role will serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on operator, ensuring that our people programs align with business goals while nurturing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and respect. This role oversees People operations, culture, compliance, and workforce planning while driving initiatives that make Cold Front Distribution a great place to work.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement people strategies aligned with company goals and operational needs.
- Partner with senior leadership to shape culture, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the company.
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for warehouse, logistics, sales, and administrative roles.
- Build strong talent pipelines and relationships with local employment networks.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure smooth integration of new team members.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Champion the company’s values and promote a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment.
- Develop employee engagement programs, recognition systems, and feedback mechanisms.
- Lead internal communications that support connection, transparency, and trust.
4. Performance & Development
- Implement and manage performance management systems.
- Support leadership and employee development through training, coaching, and career growth initiatives.
- Identify skills gaps and coordinate learning opportunities.
5. HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and compliance with labor laws, workplace safety, and company standards.
- Manage payroll, benefits, and employee records in collaboration with finance and operations teams.
- Lead investigations and employee relations matters with fairness and discretion.
6. Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Partner with the HSE team to ensure a safe and compliant workplace, particularly within warehouse and field sales operations.
- Drive wellbeing programs to support physical and mental health across all employee groups.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- 5 years’ experience in HR, People & Culture, or similar roles — ideally in manufacturing, logistics, food service, or CPG environments.
- Proven success in building engagement and improving workplace culture.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-site operational business.
- Exposure to HRIS / payroll systems (UKG) preferred.
