Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are organized, labeled correctly, and replenished regularly to maintain a neat and inviting store appearance
- Operate cash registers using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist customers with product inquiries, provide product demos when applicable, and upsell items to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising standards to ensure displays are attractive and well-stocked
- Support inventory management by conducting stock counts and reporting low inventory levels for timely restocking
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, addressing their needs professionally, and practicing good phone etiquette when assisting via phone
Skills
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations for smooth transaction processing
- Prior supervising or leadership experience is a plus, demonstrating ability to oversee tasks and motivate team members
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for sales calculations, discounts, and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members in a bilingual environment if applicable
- Experience in grocery or retail store environments is preferred; familiarity with merchandising and product placement enhances performance
