Sybase DBA

• Manage, maintain, and optimize Sybase ASE database environments across stores to ensure high availability and performance.
• Install, configure, and upgrade Sybase database servers and related tools.
• Monitor database health, resource utilization, and query performance using Sybase monitoring utilities.
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical business data.
• Perform capacity planning and storage management to support growing data needs.
• Develop and enforce database security policies, including user access controls and role management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Collaborate with application developers to support database design, schema changes, and deployments.
• Maintain database documentation including configurations, standards, and operational runbooks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to data governance.
• Provide on-call support for critical database incidents and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  
  

Salary And Other Compensation

The Salary for this position will be 99,000 to 116,000 early depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
