As a Patient Advocate, you will make a meaningful impact by connecting uninsured patients with programs that help cover their medical expenses. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between patients, hospitals, and government agencies to ensure eligibility for Medicaid, Social Security, county indigent programs, and other types of healthcare funding.
Shift: Monday to Friday 7-4pm or 8-5pm CST, Onsite. May require local travel.

In This Role, You Will
- Complete and follow through on applications until approval
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in applicable systems
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain and manage patient account work queue
- Collaborate with hospital staff and other stakeholders
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls, track necessary enrollment paperwork
- Maintain structured contact with applicants and government agencies
- Assist applicants in gathering required documents
- Review patient information for eligibility and accuracy
- Develop professional relationships with hospital staff
- Adhere to confidentiality, EMTALA, and HIPAA guidelines
- Work effectively with diverse groups and demonstrate strong communication, organization, administrative, and time management skills
- High School or GED required; Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of Medicaid guidelines or prior experience working with Medicaid programs.
- Professional experience with state and federal programs
- Adaptability to adjust with new tools, workflows or updates to government programs
- Strong administrative and customer service skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to navigate hospital settings and patient rooms
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior hospital experience preferred
