Role: AWS Cloud Data Migration Engineer (AWS DMS / Oracle to AWS)
Location: Austin, TX Hybrid
Job Description:
- 8 years of IT experience supporting the design, development, deployment, and delivery of enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
- Hands-on experience with Full Load, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming architectures.
- Expertise in AWS infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, Routing, VPN, and AWS Direct Connect.
- Experience with EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and cloud data integration methodologies.
- Experience with automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for monitoring and logging.
- Experience developing data migration, cutover, and rollback strategies while minimizing downtime.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud/on-premises environments and legacy system modernization.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database Specialty certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with experience creating technical designs and migration runbooks.
- Public Sector/State Government experience is preferred.
