Coffey Modica LLP, a prominent and growing law firm based in the Tri-State area is seeking a Billing Manager reporting to the COO CFO to oversee all billing and collection of Accounts Receivable aspects of the firm. The Billing Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the firm’s billing processes and the timely collection of all outstanding receivables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal billing software systems and have strong communication skills with the in-firm lawyers and the external clients.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject and several years’ experience in billing, including the use of software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and take ownership of team of billing and collection specialists ensuring accurate, detailed and timely billing each month.
- Review and understand each client’s billing guidelines and make sure they are accurately applied.
- Upgrade/Improve Systems. Work with the CFO and CTO and lawyers to leverage and upgrade the billing software to a more integrated overall system.
- Lead and mentor the collection and billing staff by training, mentoring and support.
- Establishment of KPI’s. With the CFO work on the establishment of KPI’s for all aspects of billing and collection.
- Reduce the overall balance of Accounts Receivable by resolving issues on overdue unpaid invoices and undertaking collection efforts where needed.
- Responsible for eBilling (LEDES).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a legal firm with advanced software program
- Self-starter with good analytical skills and ability to work in very detailed way.
- Good communication skills and able to deal with outside clients.
- Proficiency in software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of billing software systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
