We are seeking a dedicated General Manager with an ownership opportunity to lead our team and drive our future growth for a soon-to-open independent coffee shop in Hanna City, IL. This is a unique partnership opportunity that combines hands-on, daily management with high-level strategic ownership. You won’t just be running a shop; you’ll be building a business and sharing in its success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Collaborate with fellow owners to develop and execute the annual budget and long-term strategic plan.
- Drive the shop's financial performance by managing the P&L, analyzing key metrics, and making data-driven decisions.
- Lead initiatives for sales growth, including developing promotions, customer loyalty programs, and new revenue streams.
- Manage operating costs, including Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and labor, to meet or exceed profitability targets.
2. Daily Operations & Team Management
- Oversee all day-to-day functions to ensure an exceptional standard of product quality, service, and store cleanliness.
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle for all non-management staff: hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and performance management.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, manage supplier relationships, and place all orders for coffee, milk, paper goods, and other supplies.
- Ensure the shop is a positive, safe, and efficient work environment for the entire team.
3. Marketing & Community Engagement
- Act as the face of the business, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and building strong relationships with our customers and community.
- Develop and execute a local marketing calendar to drive foot traffic and build brand loyalty.
- Manage the shop’s social media profiles (e.g., Instagram, Facebook), creating engaging content and interacting with our online community.
Qualifications & Skills
- Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in a high-volume coffee shop, café, or restaurant.
- Financial Acumen: Proven ability to read and manage a P&L statement, create budgets, and control costs effectively.
- Leadership: A natural leader with experience hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team.
- Operational Excellence: A passion for creating efficient systems and an obsession with quality and consistency.
- Marketing Savvy: Experience with local marketing and social media management for a consumer-facing brand.
