Job Description

Substitute Teacher

Responsible to: Principal

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Ability to adjust to varying tasks as assigned
3. Demonstrates proper communication and personal skills

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Reports to office upon arrival at school
2. Keeps accurate record of activities and objectives for students
3. Interacts in a positive and professional manner with students and staff
4. Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information
5. Maintains classroom management that fosters a safe and positive environment for all

students and staff in accordance with school and county policies

1. Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students
2. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,

materials and facilities

1. Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the

appropriate authority immediately or as soon as reasonably possible

1. Follows teacher lesson plans
2. Remains in classroom until students have been dismissed
3. Remains in building and on duty until the completion of the work day
4. Returns instructional materials, equipment and keys to proper place
5. Determines if his/her services will be required for the next school day
6. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities

General Requirements:

1. Follows Federal and State Laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance

with School Board priorities

1. Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest

standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission

Statements

1. Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of

confidential student and staff information

1. Other Responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned
