Job Description
Director of Middle School Instruction/Testing
Responsible to: Director of Schools, Deputy Director of Schools
Qualifications:
1. Valid Tennessee teacher's license in any secondary endorsement area
2. Valid Tennessee administrator's license
3. Advanced degree with a major in Curriculum/Instruction OR Instructional Leadership
4. Five years teaching experience (minimum)
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Keep informed of curricular changes and assist in the planning and implementation of
such changes
2. Coordinate the textbook adoption process
3. Order textbooks and ancillary materials annually
4. Distribute textbooks and ancillary materials annually
5. Assist with the coordination of system instructional staff development
6. Observe classroom teachers as requested by principals
7. Attend state meetings and share updated information with system staff
8. Coordinate the standardized testing for Coffee County Schools
9. Attend state meetings for updates in testing and share information with system staff
10. Hold system meetings with building testing coordinators as needed to plan the
administration of state standardized testing
11. Assist with the development of formative assessment tests as needed
12. Analyze data at the school and district level as needed
13. Meet with principals as needed to discuss testing data for their building
14. Examine and document evidence of Highly Qualified status of applicable teacher
applications
15. Update Highly Qualified status of teachers as needed
16. Administer computer-based Parapro testing as needed

Statements.
