Coeur Mining is seeking a motivated individual to join our Chicago based Internal Audit team to assist with day-to-day operations and projects. Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Intern will support, and gain exposure to audit matters and projects.

Our summer internship program will provide you with the opportunity to gain real-world, on-the-job experience at our Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Interns are mentored throughout the summer by industry professionals and given ownership of projects with a tangible impact on the company.

As part of the program, interns at each site are tasked with creating a group presentation and a ‘Day in the Life’ video to present at the Intern Summit at Coeur’s Corporate Office in Chicago to wrap up all their hard work!

What You’ll be Doing:

• Participate in all phases of various audit projects such as operational audits, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing, or other projects and duties as assigned.
• With oversight and direction from the Internal Audit team, the intern will:
• Develop and prepare internal audit templates and work papers
• Assemble relevant information for use in planning and execution of internal audit projects
• Provide administrative support to the Internal Audit Team
• Perform audit procedures and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness internal controls
• Report progress of internal audit responsibilities during daily team stand-up meetings
• Effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization to support Internal Audit team
• Determine compliance with policies and procedures
• Communicate findings to management and draft comprehensive and complete reports of audit area under guidance of supervisors.
• Follow up on audit findings to ensure corrective action has been implemented

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in the area of Finance or Accounting; Concentration in Accounting and Audit preferred
• Standing junior or senior at an accredited university
• Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
• Self-starter, people-oriented. Ability to adapt to changing environment and ability to multi-task.
• Strong teammate able to collaborate with teams on complex assignments
• Bilingual (preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the country of hire without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
• Ability to work individually and within a team
• Curiosity and willingness to learn!

The salary offered for this role is USD $27.59/hour.
