Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Alumni Engagement. This position is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of alumni engagement activities, supporting the development of donor relationships in collaboration with the fundraising team, and cultivating alumni relationships for the benefit of students through partnership with C3: Creativity, Careers, Community center. This position will lead a proactive culture of positive alumni relations through personal alumni outreach, event planning and communication coordination.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Build intentional and strategic efforts to foster connection to the college, including but not limited to, directing alumni activities of Homecoming, local and national events, special events, alumni/student networking events, affinity gatherings, student/alumni mentoring programs and other engagement. This will involve close collaboration with both Annual Fund and C3: Creativity, Careers, Community center teams.
- Lead the Alumni team and manage the operations of the Alumni Office [including development and implementation of new systems, budgeting and matters of general policy].
- Support the philanthropic efforts of the college by actively managing an alumni portfolio of 25-40 leadership annual donor prospects.
- Bridge the activities of alumni engagement and annual giving by actively fostering communication and coordination, including promoting giving through all alumni events as well as specifically through Day of Giving. These efforts will include documentation within the current management system (Raiser’s Edge) and active participation in monthly major gift meetings.
- Guide and oversee communication flow of the office with Communications Coordinator, and work closely with the Office of Marketing to ensure timely marketing request submissions, edits and completion of projects.
- Develop strategies around and coordinate alumni engagement and outreach through various online platforms, including email, website, and social media.
- Work closely with Annual Fund and C3: Creativity, Careers, Community center to manage the transition of graduating students to young alumni through coordination of the senior survey, senior dinner and the senior class gift. This includes, but is not limited to, serving as advisor to and attending meetings of the Coe Student Alumni Association.
- Responsible for day-to-day correspondence with constituents and donor cultivation.
- Direct the Alumni Council toward its goal of fostering alumni ownership and engagement across all alumni groups, which will include but is not limited to collaboration with other Advancement staff in the areas of Homecoming/reunions, philanthropy, young alumni engagement, student engagement, and alumni awards.
- Develop campus-wide system with all campus partners to learn about and document alumni updates and visits to campus to ensure cohesive and strategic relationship building.
- Collaborate with Athletics in regards to the Hall of Fame program, including nominations, voting and inviting and planning the event.
- Work with Advancement staff to assist in and to assure the success of any campaign or large campus-wide initiative the College is engaged in or for which it is planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of event planning experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advancement experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Travel and regular evening and weekend commitments required.
- CRM experience helpful, particularly Raiser’s Edge
